MENERT – Biotech Ltd. was established in 2003 with its original commercial name EVOLUTION-MENERT, Ltd. It was a joint venture between a Slovak company, MENERT Ltd. (headquarters in Šala, Slovak Republic), and an American based company, Evolution Markets LLC (headquarters in White Plains, New York).
After four years of existence the company became well known in the world market in emission trading. The company provides emission allowance brokerage services within the European Union trading system and under the mechanisms of the Kyoto protocol. It also trades under the domestic system of pollutant emission trading (SO2).
Employees of the company are pioneers in greenhouse gas emissions. They prepared and executed one of the first transactions under the trading scheme of the Kyoto Protocol with allowances (AAUs) as well as the first transaction of emission allowances within the European Union trading system.
The company provides comprehensive brokerage services for its clients (the sale and purchase of emission allowances, consulting services, consulting in legislative matters, emission analysis for projects and many others).
In 2007 the company changed its commercial name to MENERT – Biotech Ltd. Evolution Markets LLC share was bought out and MENERT became the sole owner. It also extended its activities portfolio into renewable energy resources, mainly the use of biomass for heat and electrical power. The engineering-projection team offers comprehensive services including consulting, project management and installation of complex technological stations.
